More Than 22 Million Americans Seek Treatment From a Chiropractor Every Year, Says Scott Zack of Michigan

Chiropractic is a medical practice that provides treatment to problems that relate to the musculoskeletal system. This system is composed of the body’s muscles, bones, joints, tendons, and allows us to move freely and easily. The practice also seeks to treat the central nervous system’s problems through the spine, joints, and certain bones’ realignment. This realignment is called chiropractic manipulation. According to Scott Zack, a Michigan-based Chiropractor, over 22 million Americans seek treatment from a chiropractor every year. But with so many people making appointments and attending consultations, what are the benefits of chiropractic care?

Warm-Ups

When someone thinks of warm-ups, they generally think of a person doing jumping jacks or going for a jog. While these are effective, new research has shown the myriad benefits of chiropractic for warming up muscles and getting bodies limber before exercise. “This is great for athletes looking to compete in important competitions.” Scott Zack Chiropractor says. “The treatments can focus on a specific muscle or target all major muscle groups for a full-body workout.”

Pain Relief

“Chiropractic offers pain relief for various ailments throughout the body.” Says Scott Zack of Michigan. “While chiropractic’s main practice is spinal manipulation, other treatments include manual or manipulative therapies, exercise, and ergonomic training. These treatments focus on pulled muscles, stiff joints, and sore tendons to help repair the body and offer pain relief.

Lower Back Pain Relief

Lower back pain is one of the most prevalent ailments globally, and one that most people will suffer from at one time or another. Chiropractic manipulations have proven to be very effective at treating lower back pain, and often offers major relief when it comes to debilitating pain. However, only qualified professionals are advised to attempt such manipulations as injury can occur if sub-par practitioners attempt them.

Joints and Arthritis

Arthritis is a broad term for a disease that causes mild to extreme pain in the joints and surrounding tissues. The most common form of this is osteoarthritis. Just as it has been found in recent years that chiropractic offers definite relief for back pain, so too have patients reported that chiropractic has been effective in treating arthritis. “It’s not a permanent cure.” Scott Zack of Michigan says, “But chiropractic has helped many patients who are suffering from painful arthritis.”
